At Bija Yoga, we offer yoga classes taught in the Iyengar Tradition. We also offer Feldenkrais classes. We welcome students of all levels of learning; offering beginning, mixed and intermediate classes . We have workshops and Intensives with teachers from around the world.
Yoga classes are based on the teachings of B.K.S Iyengar, where alignment and integration of body, mind and breath are in harmony. Many of our teachers have both taught and practiced Iyengar yoga for decades and bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to their classes . We ensure that each student is taught in a safe and progressive manner.
Pranayama: Ocean of Energy with David Sirgany
Date: 10/15/2017 Sunday
Time:: 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Within us exists an ocean of energy. We tend to lose touch with this fact early on. Then we seek energy through an increasing variety of external sources of stimulation.
By learning to work with our innate energy through yoga/pranayama practice -we consciously rediscover our natural condition and access new possibilities of body, mind and spirit.
The focus of this afternoon workshop will be on creating a solid foundation for the practice of pranayama (yogic breathing).
This will be highly beneficial for students interested in learning to breath more optimally in their yoga practice and in daily life.
Students who already have an established pranayama practice will have the opportunity to more deeply explore how pranayama also leads to maturity in the practice of the other limbs of yoga, including asana (yogic postures).
This workshop will include asana, deep relaxation, and basic pranayama techniques.
A minimum of two years of consistent Iyengar yoga practice is required -or by permission of the teacher.
