Class Descriptions

Introductory Course:

This course is an introduction to Hatha Yoga in the Iyengar method. For more information and to find out when the next introductory course begins, go to the workshop page.

Asana I:

The basics of asana (poses) are taught and inverted asanas are introduced. The foundation for practice is established. It is recommended all students new to Iyengar yoga take this level for 1 to 2 years.

Asana II:

 Building on the foundation, the depth of understanding is increased and new asanas are learned. All basic asanas and relaxation are practiced. Pranayama is introduced. It is recommended that students spend 2 years at this level.

Asana III:

A continuous study of practice and introduction of more poses emphasizing the intelligence and the effects of the asanas.

Asana IV-V
This 2 hour class is for teachers and students with a maturity in asanas through Level III and a consistent self-directed practice. Permission of the teacher is required

Gentle
This class is designed for people who prefer a slower pace.
